Olympon cavern

The cavern Olympon (or Fig Tree cavern) is one of the most important and most beautiful caverns in Greece. Located 8 km away from the village, on the road going to Agia Dynami, before we reach the village of Olympi. The cavern has a depth of 57 meters and is full of beautiful stalactites and stalagmites. In some places even large high columns of stalactites are created.

It dates from the Upper Jurassic age (before 150 million years) and should be completed during theCenozoic (about 50 million years ago).

Discovered and explored in 1985.
